George R R Martin, bestselling author of a series that some of you may have heard of … is coming to Sydney. He’s in the country for WorldCon in Melbourne (and in fact, he’s already arrived!) next week and he’s going to drop by Sydney and do a signing at Galaxy Bookshop on Monday 13 September at 12:30pm. Now is your chance to get some books signed and meet one of fantasy’s best writers (not to mention quizzing George about the upcoming HBO adaption of A Game of Thrones).

So that’s why he came to Australia early. I wish he wouldn’t call it “downunder”, though. I’ve always hated that term. It sounds like we live in a pair of knickers.
